The More Available and Affordable Automatic Gate

One great improvement on farms and ranches, as well as residential homes, has been the increasing availability of the affordable automatic gate.  On farms and ranches, workers no longer have to climb in and out of trucks or off and on farming equipment as they move from one pasture or field to another.

Prior to the addition of the automatic gate, most large stock gates were opened by hand and while attached to the fence at one site, there were one or more small caster-life wheels that allowed the gate to more easily be opened and closed.  Many of the larger automatic gates also utilize small wheels on the "opening" site of the gate.  This provides stability and lessens the chance that the fence will become warped.

Home owners also have widely adopted automatic gates.  For years, such entrance guards were utilized only on high-end homes or estates due to the high cost of both purchase and installation.  That is no longer the case at all as residential neighborhoods often use automatic gates on the driveways for security.  The gate may be operated with a unit quite similar to a garage door opener, or may be truly automatic and open when a car approaches.  Most such gates also have a chime or bell located in the home that alerts the homeowner that someone has entered the property.

If you have a long driveway leading to your home, an automatic gate may be just what you need.  Readily available and not difficult to install, these gates can be a decorative addition to the entrance to your property as well as a necessary security device.
